Important information for UK Crystal Bookers – YOUR MONEY IS SAFE

Crystal Cruises is currently undergoing an insolvency proceeding in Florida. At present it looks unlikely that there will be funds available to ensure that all those who are due refunds will receive any from this process. We hope that the information on this page will assist UK passengers who are owed money to clarify the status of the monies owed to you.

The first pressing question is whether or not your money is safe.  The answer is, for UK guests who have booked in the UK, via their agent or direct, through The Cruise Portfolio, Crystal’s General Sales Agent of 31 years, a definitive “Yes, it is”.

The Cruise Portfolio acted as tour operator for these bookings, and is responsible for ensuring refunds of all customer monies owed on bookings made in £ sterling through our offices.  We would like to confirm that Cruise Portfolio is wholly solvent and fully able to meet its current and future financial obligations.

What we should clarify is that The Cruise Portfolio is not associated with Crystal in any way other than being a sales agent. We are a small family company, an arm of Mundy Cruising trading as The Cruise Portfolio, and all client refunds will be coming from our own bank account rather than the liquidators. We passed on your client monies to Crystal in the same week that you paid us – we did not retain client monies ourselves.  And, as stated above, currently it seems unlikely that we will ever be able to recover these funds from Crystal’s liquidators.

We repeat, we are in a position to repay everyone. We ask for your patience and understanding as we work through the process to expedite all refunds.  Refunds of sums received will be processed to the original form of payment.

Obviously, we fully understand that there may be some frustration about all of this, and if you would like to discuss for further re-assurance, my personal email is edwina@mundycruising.co.uk.  Anyone who would like to speak to me directly on the matter should send me an email, with advice on how to contact you and the best time to do so.

We promise to be honest, transparent and diligent throughout this very difficult time.

Yours sincerely,

Edwina Lonsdale

Managing Director Mundy Cruising

The market leader in small ship cruising, Windstar Cruises operates a fleet of six intimate vessels, of which three are sailing ships and three, elegant all suite cruise ships, none with a passenger capacity over 350 guests.

These little ships are able to take inquisitive travellers away from the crowds, on well planned port intensive itineraries calling at small ports and harbours to bring their passengers closer to the authentic, on inspirational journeys.

Windstar’s immersive experiences are 180 degrees from ordinary.  Unpretentious, relaxed and easy-going, the unregimented Windstar style is friendly and welcoming.

Outstanding food, with a focus on local ingredients and an exploration of regional cuisines, is offered in a variety of venues offering open seating, so you can turn up when and with whom you choose.  Windstar’s signature deck barbecue is the highlight of any cruise.

The extraordinary $250 million Star Plus Initiative, currently under way, brings the all suite Star Class ships to a capacity of 312 guests apiece, small enough to deliver the authentic Windstar experience, whilst enhancing the dining, accommodation and facilities: a new lease of life for these much loved vessels.

Global itineraries entice you back to Windstar time and again to enjoy its unique style in a whole variety of new destinations.
