The very sight of a Windstar ship, sails billowing in the wind, is an indicator of a cruise line unlike most others and it’s maybe those sails, but also the casual yet elegant setting and atmosphere onboard their ships, that has earned Windstar Cruises the title of ‘World’s Most Romantic Cruise Line’, as voted for by the readers of Porthole Magazine (2008).
Windstar operates a three-ship fleet of deluxe motor-sail-yachts that allow passengers to explore those destinations that are not accessible to the larger ships. The 312- guest Wind Surf and 148-guest Wind Star and Wind Spirit sail to nearly 100 ports of call throughout Europe, the Caribbean and Costa Rica and include a number of overnight stays in various ports.
At the end of 2006 the Windstar Fleet was fully refurbished; onboard enhancements include new suites on the Wind Surf, Bose iPod docking stations in all cabins, L’Occitane toiletries in all bathrooms, an expanded DVD library for guests to enjoy and new al fresco dining experiences onboard the Wind Surf. Windstar also offers
guests a full range of complimentary water sports from the marina at the back of each ship (conditions permitting) allowing you to either learn a new skill or improve existing ones.
